The Institute is providing Consultancy services on Establishment and Management of Commercial Goat Farms on payment basis.
The mandate of the division is to develop economic feeding systems for goats and feed processing technologies for small holders and commercial goat farming. Emphasis is also being given for the development of processing technologies for value added meat and milk products from goats. The division is having four laboratories, one experimental animal farm and agriculture farm to meet the research need of the institute. The different research Laboratories are:
Divisional animal experimental farm is having facility for Experimental feeding cages, Metabolic cages, azolla demonstration unit and Experimental feed unit etc. Agriculture and Agro-forestry Farm includes cultivated area, grass land/ agro-forestry and natural pasture. Divisional scientists are involved in external and institute research projects of national Interest, research guidance of masters and PhD students, training to goat farmers and entrepreneur, consultancy and management work. The division is also conducting entrepreneur development program on Feed and fodder processing and Value added milk and meat products.
